![]() I kinda got the idea for the design from that of Botan's ponytail from Yu-Yu Hakusho.Ĭ1- This style is one of the more shorter and casual hairstyles I use for drawing anime characters. I use this hairstyle on Sergeant Katya Bruchekov, one of the secondary antagonists of the Galaxy Warriors series and the niece of the main series antagonist, Victor Mikuvich. I got the inspiration for the design from that of the reanimated Priestess Kikyo from Inuyasha.ī2- This one is another female hair variation, except it's in a ponytail. Anyway, I used this hairstyle on Li-Sung as a symbol of her beauty. Centuries later, this mane is used on certain models and actresses and women with many different variations like the late Betty Paige, a bombshell model from the 1950's and Sofia Boutella, an Algerian rising star and dancer (and one of the best at that!), who's now best known for her roles as Gazelle from Kingsman: The Secret Services (2015), Jaylah from Star Trek Beyond (2016), and now as the mummified antagonist to the upcoming 2017 Mummy reboot film starring Tom Cruise. It was originally used on certain princesses or even priestesses and other japanese women. ![]() It usually holds blunt bangs and straight hair while the side burns are usually shorter than the image here. The japanese would call this the 'Hime cut". Actually, I read somewhere that this hairstyle had also orignated in Fuedal Japan during the Sengoku Era or the Meiji Restoration Era. I always use this on the female protagonist (or deuteragonist) of Galaxy Warriors, Corporal Cheung Li-Sung Wang, a chinese super soldier of the USCM. Honestly, I like the blunt bangs seen on these kind of hairstyles. The top parts of his face is never seen in the first story since he always has his blue helmet on.ī1- This one is probably one of my favorites. Except in Galaxy Warriors, Hugo's hair here is blonde instead of black.Ī3- This is the more cartoony and shaggy hairstyle I use for Tokka Takagaru AKA X-31-2K when he reveals his whole face in Galaxy Warriors 2. I got the inspiration for this style from Yusuke Urameshi's hair from the Yu-Yu Hakusho franchise. I even added a patch to the side to make it look like it was from the 90's. I made this hair more spikey and gelled back. I also got the inspiration from Commander Keith's hairstyle from the 1980's anime incarnation of Voltron.Ī2- For this one, I use on Hugo Ingelbert AKA A-Zero-05, the human medic from Galaxy Warriors. (How the fuck is your sticked up like that, Goku?!) It's a cliche that every otaku has seen in popular anime and manga, especially shonen and shoujos. The inspiration for the design came from how every anime heroes' hair sticks out like a sore thumb from all the others in their respective series like Yugi's hair (Yami or not) from Yu-Gi-Oh!, Inuyasha's hair from Inuyasha and even Goku's hair from Dragon Ball Z. This is the hairstyle I usually use on Sergeant Eric William-Jackson, the main protagonist to my series, Galaxy Warriors. Here's a list of descriptions for each of them.Ī1- For this one, I like to call it a "Hero/ Protagonist's Hair". ![]() I usually make my hairstyles more reminiscent of japanese anime hairstyles from the 1980's, 1990's and the early 2000's like Space Pirate Captain Harlock, Inuyasha, Akira, Yu-Yu Hakusho, Naruto, Dragon Ball Z and Voltron (80's version). Here is a reference table of some of the hairstyles I used when I draw my characters from Galaxy Warriors or whenever I do a fan art in my own anime style.
